Quick answer: Pick Disney World if your crew wants classic Christmas, character parties, and EPCOT's Candlelight Processional. Pick Universal if they want Harry Potter, Grinchmas, and Epic Universe's first decorated Super Nintendo World, all included with a regular park ticket. Universal's holidays run Nov. 14, 2026, to Jan. 3, 2027, and Disney's run Nov. 13 to Jan. 6.
From Mikayla
“The holidays are my favorite time to visit the Orlando parks. One tip that surprises families: visit Magic Kingdom during the day when a Christmas party is scheduled that evening. Many guests skip it on party days because the park closes early to regular guests, and in my experience that can mean noticeably shorter attraction and dining waits. If you have both tickets, ride during the day, then spend the party on the parade, fireworks and holiday shows instead of waiting in lines.
At Universal, my daughter was chosen for the wand ceremony at Ollivanders the year she turned 11, a memory she'll carry forever. My biggest tip for both resorts is to stay on-site when it makes sense. On our last visit, Early Park Admission at Islands of Adventure got us two rides on VelociCoaster, plus Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff.
There's no one better choice. I love both, and I love building trips around the moments that matter most to your family.”
